"Sarasota group the Equines mix bouncy guitars, beach-boogie xylophones and an overall fun-loving sensibility to create danceable indie-pop gems...picture Vivian Girls on a laid-back family vacation, or Blake Babies with a tropical twist." - Jay Cridlin, Tampa Bay Times
"..The band’s style is a melding of late-70s Post-Punk with Pop sensibilities, mixed with a bit of Southern Folk...Stevie Nicks with a Folky twist" - Marc Ganancias,

That includes generating sampler CDs of upcoming groups, holding regular concerts amongst their ranks, being available for impromptu fill-ins when venues get cancellations, and occasional 'zine publication, all courtesy of The Equines' frontgal Erin Murphy and sidekick Greg Ferris." -Dawn Scire Sarasota Herald-Tribune
"...pirate or princess, the Equines will take you to a magical place. And now that they’ve got a record out, you can visit there as much as you want."
-Creative Loafing Sarasota

Now we tell bad jokes instead of being a joke. One day, we will play in Sweden. We have a friend there.
